Kao Denero Sends Strong Message to Guinea’s Leadership – But What If He Were ECOWAS Chairman?

Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, King Kao Denero, has expressed strong frustration toward Guinea’s President, Mamady Doumbouya, over ongoing regional issues. Kao’s concerns highlight very real challenges facing West Africa today – from democracy in Guinea to the long-standing Yenga land dispute between Sierra Leone and Guinea.
While his points may hold truth, the reality is that the ECOWAS Chairman traditionally approaches such matters with careful diplomacy. The role is not only about raising concerns but also about mediating disputes, promoting dialogue, and implementing conflict-prevention strategies across the sub-region.

In situations like Guinea’s political direction and the sensitive Yenga border issue, diplomacy becomes even more critical. Harsh rhetoric alone may escalate tensions, but deep negotiation and mediation can foster peace, stability, and cooperation between nations.
Still, the question remains intriguing: What if Kao Denero himself were President and ECOWAS Chairman today? His outspoken nature suggests a leadership style full of directness and boldness – something that could either transform regional politics or create sharp confrontations.
One thing is certain: West Africa needs both the truth-telling courage of voices like Kao Denero and the balanced diplomacy of ECOWAS leadership to maintain peace and strengthen democracy.
