The leading All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed “Omodu”, popularly known as Jagaban, has reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment and the fight against drug abuse by sponsoring the Fourth Edition of the Kingtom Football Association (KFA) Inter-Area Trophy.
This year’s tournament, themed “Say No to Drugs,” kicked off at the K-T Field in Kingtom with an exciting opening match between two local football powerhouses — Kroo Bay Community and New England Ville Community. The event attracted a large crowd of football enthusiasts, community leaders, and APC supporters.
In a symbolic show of unity, Jagaban and fellow APC flagbearer aspirant Mr. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) jointly performed the ceremonial kick-off, greeted by cheers and applause from spectators. The gesture underscored the spirit of collaboration and shared purpose in addressing one of Sierra Leone’s most pressing social challenges — the rise of kush and other dangerous substances.
During his remarks, Jagaban expressed deep appreciation to the event organizers, particularly Hon. Pastor Adama Conteh Sesay, APC Western District Chairlady, and his colleague JFK for their support. He also used the platform to encourage all Sierra Leoneans to fully participate in the upcoming National Population Census, emphasizing its importance for effective national planning and equitable development.
> “The census is a national responsibility — every citizen must take part to help shape the future of our communities,” Jagaban stated.
He further urged the youth to shun drug use, embrace discipline, and work collectively toward a prosperous and united Sierra Leone.
Representing the organizing committee, Mr. Costello applauded Jagaban for his consistent engagement in community-driven initiatives and his steadfast commitment to curbing drug abuse across the country.
> “Jagaban is not just a politician; he’s a visionary leader genuinely devoted to community transformation and youth development,” Costello noted.
The event blended sportsmanship, social awareness, and civic responsibility — reflecting Jagaban’s vision for a drug-free and united Sierra Leone.
